Race Report

RACE-5 THE GENEROUS RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1300 METRES (362)
GOLDEN BULLET (K H YU) jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Shortly after the start SPIRTO GENTIL (K F CHOI) was crowded between MR BEAUTIFUL (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) and MONTAQUILA (K W LEONG), both of which shifted ground.
Near the 900 metres MONTAQUILA (K W LEONG) was buffeted between GOLDEN BULLET (K H YU) and MR BEAUTIFUL (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.
CHINESE EXPRESS (K L LEI) raced wide until the 800 metres.
PALM TRILOGY (F DURSO), SUPER MONSTER (H LAM) and MR BEAUTIFUL (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) raced wide throughout.
MONTAQUILA (K W LEONG) had difficulty in obtaining clear running from rounding the home turn until approaching the 100 metres.
MR BEAUTIFUL (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) suffered a bleeding attack.
When questioned regarding the performance of SUPER MONSTER (H LAM) which weakened from the 500 metres, Jockey H LAM stated that the horse travelled well when racing wide, however did not respond to his riding in the straight. He added that in his opinion the step up in distance may have accounted for the disappointing run. A post race veterinary examination of SUPER MONSTER failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Y T LAM was informed that he would be required to present SUPER MONSTER to the Veterinary Clinic on Saturday, 8th May 2010 for a thorough veterinary examination which is to include an endoscopic examination.
Subsequent to the race, swab samples were taken from PALM TRILOGY (F DURSO) and CLOWN MASTER (W L HO).
