Race Report

RACE-6 THE ASSERT RATING 85-65 (CLASS 2) 1000 METRES (372)
CHINESE EXPRESS (L CORRALES) was examined at the request of the rider prior to the start and was passed fit to race.
CHINESE FOREVER (H LAM) and GOLDEN BULLET (K W LEONG) came together on jumping away.
TIGER KING (APPRENTICE C C LAM) jumped away awkwardly.
TEST OF TIME (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) jumped out at the start and made contact with the hindquarters of CHINESE EXPRESS (L CORRALES).
Near the 800 metres CHINESE FOREVER (H LAM) blundered and lost ground.
Passing the 800 metres SPRIGGAN (P U WONG) dipped and became unbalanced.
Near the 50 metres CONTINUED SUCCESS (APPRENTICE M CANGAS) improved onto the heels of GOLDEN BULLET (K W LEONG) and had to be steadied.
Passing the 50 metres CHINESE EXPRESS (L CORRALES) was inconvenienced by CLUB HOUSE (R J PEREZ) which shifted in under pressure.
GOLDEN BULLET (K W LEONG), HAPPY FOREVER (LEI KIN MENG), TEST OF TIME (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO), CHINESE EXPRESS (L CORRALES) and CLUB HOUSE (R J PEREZ) all raced wide throughout.
A post race of CHINESE EXPRESS (L CORRALES) revealed that the horse was lame in right hind leg. Before being entered to race again CHINESE EXPRESS will be required to pass a veterinary examination.
A post race veterinary examination of CHINESE FOREVER (H LAM) failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
Subsequent to the race, swab samples were taken from KING STRIKE (M NUNES) and EXCELLENT QUALITY (W T PAO).
