Race Report

RACE-4 THE CIRCUS TROPHY RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (259)
AUGUST STAR (G FAUCON) which dislodged its rider on the way to the barriers, was quickly recaptured, examined and passed fit to race.
TURQUOISE HAPPY (F DURSO) stood flat footed at the start and lost ground. Before being entered to race again, TURQUOISE HAPPY will be required to pass a barrier trial. In addition Trainer K W CHAN was informed to present the horse to undergo a thorough veterinary examination which is to include an endoscopic examination on Sunday 27th February 2011.
MACAU WARRIOR (M NUNES) jumped awkwardly and shifted outwards abruptly.
LET GO (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) and BOWL BROTHERS (C W CHOI) were slow to begin.
NOTEVENOW (A HELFENBEIN) raced wide rounding the turn.
Shortly after straightening TURQUOISE PROFIT (A SPITERI) had to be steadied when momentarily held up behind LUCKY TWIN STAR (T PEREIRA) and to the inside of AUGUST STAR (G FAUCON).
Near the 300 metres AUGUST STAR (G FAUCON) shifted in and bumped LUCKY TWIN STAR (T PEREIRA).
A post race veterinary examination of POWER PURDEY (APPRENTICE B YAMZON) failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
Subsequent to the race, swab samples were taken from AUGUST STAR (G FAUCON) and TURQUOISE PROFIT (A SPITERI).
