Race Report

RACE-7 THE GOSFORD RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1000 METRES (415)
As Jockey W L HO had been stood down by the Club’s Medical Officer as he was suffering from an injury to his right toe, the Stewards gave permission for Jockey W H TSE to be substituted as the rider of HUNG KONG STAR.
The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of EXCEL (K M CHIN) at 5:07pm as the horse was fractious and was unable to be saddled.
Following the running of this race the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored. At the same time Mr. K W CHAN the trainer of TURQUOISE FAST (K H YU) the 2nd placed horse, requested permission to view the video replay in view of the possibility of lodging an objection. After viewing the replay Trainer K W CHAN did not proceed. It was established that TURQUOISE FAST the 2nd placed horse shifted outwards when placed under pressure in the straight carrying GOLDEN BULLET (T PEREIRA) the winner wider on the track. As the Stewards were satisfied that the incident did not materially affect the result of the race, correct weight was declared.
GRAND EAGLE (M NUNES) which was fractious jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) which also jumped awkwardly and shifted in.
GOLDEN BULLET (T PEREIRA) jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
BEST SPORT (H LAM) which was fractious was a little slow to begin and shortly after the start had to be checked when crowded between HUNG KONG STAR (W H TSE) and FELSHAM (L CORRALES) which jumped very awkwardly and shifted out.
FELSHAM (L CORRALES) and SUPER VEGETABLE (K F CHOI) raced wide rounding the turn.
EASY MONEY (APPRENTICE C F WONG) shifted outwards and raced wide from the 400 metres.
TURQUOISE FAST (K H YU) hung out rounding the home turn.
After the race the Veterinary Surgeon reported that both FELSHAM (L CORRALES) and SUPER VEGETABLE (K F CHOI) had cast their right front plate.
