Race Report

RACE-4 THE BALLAD ROCK RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1000 METRES (449)
SUPER PERFECT (H LAM) and TURQUOISE HAPPY (C F CHAN) were slowly away.
SUPER PERFECT (H LAM), FAIR COMMENT (W H TSE), BHUTANE DANE (APPRENTICE J PESCUISO) and GOLDEN BULLET (T PEREIRA) raced wide rounding the turn.
For a considerable distance after the 300 metres TIME PRINCE (K M CHIN) was held up and unable to improve when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPREME BEST (K H YU). Then near the 100 metres TIME PRINCE was steadied and taken out around the heels of SUPREME BEST to obtain clear running.
Near the 250 metres GRUENFELD (APPRENTICE B YAMZON) was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRAND EAGLE (APPRENTICE M CANGAS) which shifted out slightly.
A post race veterinary examination of HAPPY FOREVER at the request of the rider revealed that the horse was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer PAT LEE was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary certificate is provided.
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to “soft”.
