RACE-4 STAR RIVER‧WINDSOR ARCH FEGENTRI LADY RIDERS CHARITY RACE (HEAT 2) (TURF) RATING 80-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (98)
SUN SMILE (V ALLERS), ASHAKI (B GUENET) and FARSON (R KING) were slowly away.
GRAND EAGLE (J PIETRASIEWICZ) jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
VICTORY IN SIGHT (E MARCIALIS) jumped awkwardly then shifted out shortly after the start resulting in crowding to PALACE GENERAL (L O’NEILL), FAIR COMMENT (C BURRI), GOLDEN BULLET (B WEBER) and HAPPY GENERAL (S BRUGGEMANN). As a consequence FAIR COMMENT and GOLDEN BULLET became unbalanced.
When questioned in regards to the disappointing performance of GRAND EAGLE, Jockey J PIETRASIEWICZ explained that the horse travelled well in a forward position until the 400 metres where it commenced to give ground quickly and was extremely disappointing. A post race veterinary examination of GRAND EAGLE failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer G ALLENDORF was advised to present GRAND EAGLE to the veterinary clinic for a thorough veterinary examination which included an endoscopic examination on 19 November 11.
