RACE-3 WINTER TROPHY (GROUP 2) OPEN 1800 METRES (177)
As Jockey G Gibbons was unable to make the weight, the Stewards gave permission for Jockey B YAMZON to be substituted as the rider of DANPAOSHAQ. Jockey G GIBBONS was subsequently fined HK$1,000 under MJC Rule 122 (iii) for having accepted a ride for which he was unable to make the weight.
DANPAOSHAQ (B YAMZON) and EASY CHOICE (J LERMYTE) jumped awkwardly.
WONDERFUL TIGER (F DURSO), EASY CHOICE (J LERMYTE), GOLDEN GUNNER (T PEREIRA), FORTUNE MINE (K W LEONG), DANPAOSHAQ (B YAMZON), TURQUOISE SONG (H LAM), LUEN YAT EVERWIN (P HOLMES), LUCKY JAI (D BONILLA) and SPEEDY GONZALEZ (W T PAO) over raced in early and middle stages. As a consequence both SPEEDY GONZALEZ and DANPAOSHAQ were checked near the 1200 metres.
FORTUNE MINE (K W LEONG) raced wide from the 1000 metres.
