Race Report

RACE-3 THE FAIRYHOUSE(TURF) RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1200 METRES (200)
The Stewards gave permission for Jockey N CUNHA to be substituted as the rider of GREAT TIGER when the declared rider Jockey K W LEONG had failed to arrive on course at the prescribed time. At a subsequent inquiry Jockey K H LEONG explained that as a result of his car breaking down, he was delayed returning to Taipa. His explanation was accepted.
SUNSHINE DRAGON (A CALDER) jumped awkwardly.
SURE WIN (F DURSO) jumped awkwardly and then lost considerable ground when bumped by HAPPY GENERAL (APPRENTICE C F WONG) which jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
Near the 900 metres HAPPY GENERAL (APPRENTICE C F WONG) became unbalanced and lost ground when steadied after being momentarily crowded between HOSTWIN WINNERS (K F CHOI)
which shifted out slightly and SURE WIN (F DURSO) which shifted in slightly.
Near the 700 metres HAR HAR MONEY (H LAM) got its head up.
Rounding the home turn HAR HAR MONEY (H LAM) was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDEN BULLET (T PEREIRA) which had commenced to give ground.
SEE SEE LEADING (J LERMYTE) raced wide rounding the home turn.
GREAT TIGER (N CUNHA) had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 350 metres until near the 50 metres and as a consequence was unable to be tested.
From the 350 metres SUNSHINE DRAGON (A CALDER) was held up when unable to improve when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GOLDEN BULLET (T PEREIRA) which was giving ground. As a consequence HAPPY GENERAL (APPRENTICE C F WONG) which was following was held up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUNSHINE DRAGON (A CALDER).
