Race Report

RACE-6 THE EL GRAN SENOR RATING 80-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1700 METRES (314)
HOSTWIN CHAMPION (W T PAO) jumped awkwardly.
Near the 1600 metres DANPAOSHAQ (L CORRALES) shifted in slightly and hampered SUNSHINE DRAGON (H LAM) and BOLD FAY FAY (P U WONG).
When questioned Apprentice M CANGAS the rider of LAUGHING WORLD explained that he was instructed from the wide barrier draw to ride his mount along vigorously to obtain the lead and if possible to lead by a number of lengths. He said that he was able to ride to instructions, however when leading the horse had a tendency to over race which he believed may have resulted in the horse not finishing the race off as well as expected.
When questioned Jockey M NUNES the rider of TURQUOISE SONG explained that his horse travelled well in the run and near the 600 metres he endeavoured to shift wider on the track out of the kick back to improve. He said that despite his efforts and pulling the whip at the 400 metres the horse was unable to make significant ground and finished off the race only moderately.
