Race Report

RACE-3 THE DALLAS (TURF) RATING 80-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1800 METRES (438)
The Stewards heard an objection lodged by Jockey L Corrales the rider of WINDSOR ARCH (2nd placed horse) against LAUGHING WORLD (W T PAO) being declared the winner for alleging interference near the 1000 metres. After taking evidence from the riders concerned and viewing the patrol film, the Stewards were not satisfied that any interference suffered by WINDSOR ARCH materially affected the result of the race and as such the objection was overruled and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings. At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey W T PAO the rider of LAUGHING WORLD pleaded to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that at the 1000 metres he directed his mount in when insufficiently clear of WINDSOR ARCH resulting in that horse being checked and making contact with the running rail. He was suspended from riding in races for the racemeetings of 27th and 28th July 2012 and fined the sum of HK$20,000 in lieu 3 additional racemeetings. He advised of his Right of Appeal at 10:25pm.
MY ETERNAL FLAME (K K LAI) jumped awkwardly.
SILK CUT (A CALDER) and BOLD FAY FAY (K L LEI) over raced in the early stages.
When under pressure in the straight LAUGHING WORLD (W T PAO) shifted out.
In the straight MY ETERNAL FLAME (K K LAI) shifted out and carried EASY CHOICE (A HELFENBEIN) a little wider.
A post race veterinary examination of EASY CHOICE (A HELFENBEIN) at the request of the rider failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
