Race Report

RACE-3 THE HARBIN (TURF) RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1100 METRES (23)
POWER PURDEY (APPRENTICE C PERKINS) and WEALTHY BOY (W L HO) jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the 700 metres WEALTHY BOY (W L HO) which was over racing, shifted in slightly on its own accord resulting in TIN ALLOY (K M CHIN) and GOURMET (B YAMZON) being steadied and losing ground. Under the circumstances no action was taken.
HOSTWIN WINNERS (K F CHOI) raced wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned regarding the performance of TIN ALLOY, Jockey K M CHIN stated that he was instructed to ride the horse in a mid field position due to the expected speed of the race. He added that the horse travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. He further added that he had reported to the trainer that in his opinion TIN ALLOY would benefit with the addition of blinkers and would be better suited over races of a longer distance. His explanation was noted.
After the race the Veterinary Surgeon reported that CHARMING BEIJING (M NUNES) had cast its left fore plate.
