Race Report

RACE-5 THE RHODORA RATING 70-40 (CLASS 3) 1700 METRES (119)
DANPAOSHAQ (A HELFENBEIN) was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers and passed fit.
GAUTENG (B YAMZON) and LAUGHING WORLD (H LAM) jumped awkwardly.
TRACKMASTER (W L HO) raced wide rounding the turn.
On entering the home CHIU CHOW KNIGHT (F DURSO) and LUEN YAT SUPREME (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI) bumped on a number of occasions.
GAUTENG (B YAMZON) hung out in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out.
When questioned in relation to the instructions issued to Jockey H LAM the rider of LAUGHING WORLD, Trainer K W CHAN stated that the horse races in a forward position on the turf surface but in the past has always raced back in the field when racing on the sand and as a consequence Jockey H LAM was instructed to ride the horse in its usual pattern. Trainer K W CHAN added that he normally endeavours to race the horse on the turf track where it is better suited, however with no turf track racing available at the moment he was obliged to race the horse on the sand surface.
DANPAOSHAQ (A HELFENBEIN) and CARLO (Y PILAVCILAR) raced wide for the majority of the race.
A post race veterinary examination of LAUGHING WORLD (H LAM) failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
