Race Report

RACE-7 MACAU GOLDEN GROUP FAT CHOY CUP RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1400 METRES (230)
GIANT STEPS (K EIRWAN) and MR BEST (K MILCZAREK) bumped on jumping.
GOOD SPIRIT (K F CHOI) and LET ME RUN (M CANGAS) bumped on jumping.
Shortly after the start LET ME RUN (M CANGAS) and CARE FREE EXPRESS (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI) were tightened for room and bumped between GOOD SPIRIT (K F CHOI) which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider and GOLDEN BULLET (K H YU) which shifted in slightly. In the circumstances no action was taken.
Near the 1350 metres LUENYAT PLUS VALUE (M MCNAB) shifted out abruptly despite the efforts its rider resulting in WONDER ALLOY (W T PAO) being taken outwards resulting in GOOD SPIRIT being checked. LET ME RUN (M CANGAS) which was following was steadied in consequence and CARE FREE EXPRESS (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI) which was racing to the outside of GOOD SPIRIT was checked and blundered. DYNASTY TREASURE (A HELFENBEIN) and TWINING OCEAN BOBO (S SALEE) were also hampered and taken wider on the track.
Rounding the first turn GOLDEN BULLET (K H YU) was checked and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUENYAT PLUS VALUE (M MCNAB) which continued to shift out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. LUENYAT PLUS VALUE was then retired from the event near the 1200 metres. A post race veterinary examination of LUENYAT PLUS VALUE failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer P C CHOI was informed to present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 24TH February 2013. He was also informed that after considering the racing manners of LUENYAT PLUS VALUE , it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has passed two barrier trials to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
GIANT STEPS (K EIRWAN) over raced in the early and middle stages.
Near the 600 metres CARE FREE EXPRESS (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI) blundered.
LET ME RUN (M CANGAS), TWINING OCEAN BOBO (S SALEE), GOLDEN BULLET (K H YU) and DYNASTY TREASURE (A HELFENBEIN) raced wide for the majority of the race.
A post race veterinary examination of WONDER ALLOY (W T PAO) failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K C CHONG was informed to present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 24TH February 2013.
