Race Report

RACE-5 THE BRISTOL CITY RATING 60-30 (CLASS 3&4) 1600 METRES (269)
Acting on veterinary advice that DARE T'LIVE (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI) was found to be lame in the right foreleg, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 4:12pm. Trainer A Ngai was informed that DARE T'LIVE will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
Shortly after the start GOOD LUCKY (M CANGAS) rolled out onto KAIBO (W T PAO) taking that gelding out onto RICHES TREASURE (K ABOBO) which was tightened onto ELDERLY PRIDE (A CALDER). KAIBO on making contact with RICHES TREASURE (K ABOBO) had its hindquarters turned in resulting in it becoming very awkward and continuing to hamper the RICHES TREASURE (K ABOBO) for some distance.
Approaching the 1500 metres when being steadied FACE THE SUN (K W LEONG) got its head up and became ungenerous for several strides.
Approaching the 800 metres TRACKMASTER (W L HO) which had raced wide without cover, in an attempt to obtain cover shifted in contacting GOOD LUCKY (M CANGAS) which was obliged to ease momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of TURQUOISE SONG (F DURSO). Jockey W L HO was reprimanded and advised similar instances of aggression in the future maybe adjudged by the Stewards to be improper riding.
Near the 200 metres LUEN YAT FAST NET (C GRYLLS) rolled out onto MONTAQUILA (A HELFENBEIN) which was inconvenienced when being obliged to alter course away from heels and as a consequence shifted out onto TURQUOISE SONG (F DURSO) which was also inconvenienced when taken wider.
Near the 200 metres RUSH'N PRINCE (L CORRALES) was eased out of the event. Jockey L CORRALES the rider of RUSH'N PRINCE explained that as his mount had ceased to respond to this riding and had lost contact with the field he did not persist. Trainer W T LAI was informed that he would be required to present RUSH'N PRINCE to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 30th March 2013.
Near the 100 metres FACE THE SUN (K W LEONG) was eased out of the event. Trainer W T LAI was informed that he would be required to present FACE THE SUN to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 30th March 2013.
A post race veterinary examination of IRISH PEARL (K H YU) and SUN PROFIT (L JURADO)
failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
