Race Report

RACE-4 THE NEARULA (DIV.2) RATING 50-20 (CLASS 4&5) (TURF) 1800 METRES (359)

4 Accelera (F Durso) -When leading adjacent to the rail passing the winning post on the first occasion commenced to hang out and after changing strides despite the efforts of it rider continued to hang out taking no further part in the race.
10 Court In New York (K Abobo) -Trainer informed that horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has passed a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
13 The Rebel (Lei Kin Meng) -Slow into stride.

INQUIRY: The Stewards inquired into the circumstances in which 4 Accelera (F Durso) hung out making the turn out of the straight and took no part in this race. Jockey F Durso informed that 4 Accelera which was having its first distance start had previously been difficult to ride in trackwork and was disposed to hang. Although 4 Accelera had been tractable in recent starts, Jockey F Durso said he was conscious of this trait and had not pressured his mount to lead but when attempting to assist it in making the turn 4 Accelera had changed lead and hung out despite his efforts. Mr. K C Wong the trainer of 4 Accelera could offer no explanation for the gelding’s behavior. Mr. Wong was directed to present 4 Accelera to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Monday, 10th June 2013. The Stewards reserved a decision as to what action might be taken against 4 Accelera to enable them to consider the full veterinary report.

VETERINARY:
4 Accelera (F Durso) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
