Race Report

RACE-3 THE BRAGA (SAND) (DIV.1) RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1350 METRES (450)

At 8:26pm Mr. K S Ho the trainer of 3 Captain Genuki (L Corrales) advised the Stewards that in order to give 3 Captain Genuki every chance of running the 1350 metres he would instruct Jockey L Corrales to settle behind the speed with cover if possible.

1 Modena Creation (F Durso) –Shortly after the start was inconvenienced when tightened for room.
4 Rigid Alloy (H Lam) –Was slow to jump.
6 Delight Consul (K K Lai) –Jumped awkwardly.
7 Rolling Gold (A Calder) –Raced wide for the majority of the event.
9 Rush'N Prince (K Abobo) –Was slow to jump.
11 Wonderful Sword (R Silvera) –Raced wide for the majority of the event; From the 500 metres commenced to give ground.
12 Unbeatable (L Jurado) –Jumped awkwardly.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards sought an explanation from Jockey A Calder the rider of 7 Rolling Gold into the reasons for improving wide outside 8 King Pegasus (W L Ho) prior to the turn out of the back straight. Jockey A Calder explained that he had been instructed to ride 7 Rolling Gold forward and from the vicinity of the 1100 metres he had thought to follow 12 Unbeatable (L Jurado) in which would have provided cover however as the rider of 12 Unbeatable elected to stay some distance from the rail rather than continue to follow 8 King Pegasus which he felt would not take him into the race, he strode forward outside that runner. The Stewards advised Jockey A Calder that his explanation would be noted.

VETERINARY:
10 Sharon Treasure (Lei Kin Meng) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
11 Wonderful Sword (R Silvera) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer was advised that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has passed a barrier trial.
