RACE-2 THE MACAU RACE HORSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION PLATE RATING 70-40 (CLASS 3) 1950 METRES (462)

1 General's Steed (Apprentice C Perkins) -Making the turn in the vicinity of the 1200 metres was inclined to get its head up and be ungenerous for some distance; Near the 800 metres was momentarily inconvenienced when brushed.
5 Luen Yat Nediym (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Was slow to jump.
6 Vigorous Momentum (W Smith) –Was slow to jump; Raced wide for the majority of the event; In the vicinity of the 700 metres was unbalanced for several strides as its hindquarters were turned out.
7 Strong Wind (K Abobo) - From the vicinity of the 700 metres was inconvenienced for a short distance when tightened for room.
8 Trust My Bet (W L Ho) –Near the 800 metres when awkward was obliged to steady off heels and in doing so brushed 7 Strong Wind.
12 Magnificent Force (K K Lai) -Making the turn near the 700 metres when awkwardly placed on heels shifted out and brushed 7 Strong Wind.
14 Fair Comment (W T Pao) -Near the 200 metres on the first occasion lost its position when tightened for room.

INQUIRY
The Stewards inquired into the circumstances 14 Fair Comment (W T Pao) lost its position when tightened for room in the vicinity of the 200 metres on the first occasion. It was established that in the vicinity of the 200 metres 14 Fair Comment was tightened for room by 2 Fortune Smiles (F Durso) which shifted in, taking 14 Fair Comment in brushing the hindquarters of 1 General'S Steed (Apprentice C Perkins). Jockey F Durso was charged with careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that the allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 14 Fair Comment, resulting in that horse being checked. Jockey Durso pleaded guilty to the charge and he was suspended from riding in races for a period of two racemeetings to take effect for the first two meetings in the new Season. He was informed of his Right of Appeal at 5:55pm.

1 General'S Steed (Apprentice C Perkins) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
