Race Report

RACE-2 THE BINGARA (DIV.2) RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1350 METRES (35)

1 Sharp Spear (A Calder)- Knuckled on jumping away and lost its position when crowded for room.
2 Flaming Star (W L Ho)- Jumped awkwardly; After entering the straight, when attempting to improve became held up on the heels of 8 River Brightenstar (K Abobo) as that runner continued to hang out.
3 Oriental Paris (B Yamzon)-Inside the 200 metres the rider’s whip broke.
5 Fortune Glory (K W Leong)-From the 300 metres was inclined to lay in under pressure.
8 River Brightenstar (K Abobo)-From inside the 700 metres, was inclined to hang out; In the straight was difficult to ride and was not fully tested.
10 Smart Master (M Cangas)- Jumped awkwardly.Trainer was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in the barrier trial.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards sought an explanation from Trainer G W Moore into the apparent improved performance of 4 Wonderful Express (R Stewart) in this event. Mr. Moore stated that the horse had for a number of recent runs drawn wide resulting in it settling further back then preferred. He said that 4 Wonderful Express had overcome some minor physical issues and considering its work from the better draw he was confident it would run well.

VETERINARY:
8 River Brightenstar (K Abobo)- A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer W T Lai has been advised that the horse will be required to be presented to the Veterinary Clinic for further examination on Saturday, 12th October 2013.
10 Smart Master (M Cangas)- A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
