Race Report

RACE-1 GAMING EQUIPMENT RACE (TURF) RATING 60-30 (CLASS 3&4) 1800 METRES (81)

2 Anson (R Stewart) –Shortly after the start lost its position when tightened.
4 Trust My Bet (W L Ho) -Jumped awkwardly; Shortly after the start when taken in and was inconvenienced when making contact with 6 Strong Wind. Passing the crossing near the 1200 metres as the pace eased, shifted out and became awkward for several strides. Trainer G W Moore was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
6 Strong Wind (S Seo) -Shortly after the start was inconvenienced and became unbalanced when contacted.
7 Magnificent Force (K K Lai) –Held up briefly at the entrance to the straight.
8 Mr Best (M L Yeung) –Jumped awkwardly.
9 Sunshine Energy (J Souza) –Passing the 1200 metres was taken out off course making the turn into the back straight wide; Was obliged to race wide thereafter.
11 Dance Day (C Lindop) -Making the crossing near the 1200 metres was forced to steady away from the heels of 14 Sunshine Cheer Up.
13 River Fortune (K W Leong) –Passing the 1200 metres was taken out off course and made the turn into the back straight wide.
14 Sunshine Cheer Up (H Lam) –Knuckled on jumping; Made the crossing near the 1200 metres very awkwardly losing momentum

INQUIRY:
The Stewards questioned Jockey B Yamzon the rider of 5 Laughing World which had settled forward in recent starts in regards to his riding of that horse in the early stages of the race. Jockey Yamzon stated that due to apparent speed in the race he had been instructed to attempt settle behind the speed if possible with the expectation of being 3rd or 4th . The rider said that shortly after the start he had considered other runners had greater speed and had restrained his mount in order to track 4 Trust My Bet (W L Ho) approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Trainer K W Chan confirmed his instructions. After considering the explanation, the Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a date and time to be fixed to allow them to review 5 Laughing World recent races.

VETERINARY:
4 Trust My Bet (W L Ho) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Laughing World (B Yamzon) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.Trainer K W Chan was informed that he would be required to present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 16th November 2013.
