Race Report

RACE-4 THE DUISBURG RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (270)

2 Luen Yat Command (Apprentice Y M Choi) –At various stages of the race brushed the inside rail. The rider reported his mount hung in throughout the event.
3 Powerful Spur (A Calder) –Shortly after the start was inconvenienced when tightened for room.
4 Sure Win (W L Ho) –Near the 100 metres rolled out and brushed 7 China Cheers.
6 Blitzing Eyesight (W T Pao) –Knuckled on jumping; In the straight laid in under pressure.
7 China Cheers (L Corrales) –Near the 100 metres rolled in and brushed 4 Sure Win.
8 Sharon Star (R Silvera) –Raced wide through the event.
9 Care Free Express (B Yamzon) –Raced wide through the event
10 Good Racing (S G Cho) –Jumped awkwardly.

INQUIRY:
Jockey K H Yu the rider of 11 Rush'N Prince was questioned regarding his riding approaching the finish. Jockey K H Yu acknowledged that he had stopped ridding prior to the finish. The Stewards reprimanded Jockey K H Yu and advised him in future to ride his mounts to the finish in accordance with the rules.

Jockey A Calder the rider of explained 3 Powerful Spur that he had been instructed to go forward if possible with the option to race wider than usual as the trainer considered the going to be superior. He said that 3 Powerful Spur hadn’t began as well as he had expected and as a result settled further back than he had intended but he was satisfied that it had travelled comfortably under a hold until passing the 500 metres. He said that when put under pressure in the straight 3 Powerful Spur hadn’t quickened as he had expected.

VETERINARY:
3 Powerful Spur (A Calder) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
