Race Report
RACE-6 THE SHOLAPUR (TURF) RATING 60-30 (CLASS 3&4) 1800 METRES (422)
1 Luen Yat Command (Apprentice Y M Choi)-Near the 500 metres became held up behind 2 Will Go On as it gave ground and shifted out making contact with 6 Hit The Bull.
2 Will Go On (W T Pao)-From the 600 metres gave ground.
3 Jylland (B Yamzon)-Near the 1200 metres was obliged to steady when awkwardly placed inside heels.
6 Hit The Bull (W L Ho)-Shortly after the start was hampered and lost its position when tightened for room. Jumped the entrance to the crossing near the 200 metres. Near the 500 metres was inconvenienced as its hindquarters were turn out.
7 Mission Fortune (H Lam)-Jumped awkwardly and knuckled. From the 400 metres commenced to give ground.
9 Hand By Hand (C F Chan)-At the entrance to the straight became held up briefly and when being restrained become awkwardly placed and was obliged to steady.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident inside the 400 metres in which 9 Hand By Hand (C F Chan)was briefly tightened for room. It was established that after become held up, 9 Hand By Hand raced in neat room inside 5 Riches Treasure (L Corrales) as that runner improved and when awkwardly placed was forced to steady as 3 Jylland (B Yamzon) improved to its inside and shifted out under riding to avoid the heels of 7 Mission Fortune (H Lam) as that runner commence to give ground. After considering the evidence and reviewing the official vision, B Yamzon was reprimanded and advised in future take greater care when shifting ground.

The Stewards soughted an explanation from Mr K C Wong, the Trainer of 5 Riches Treasure (L Corrales)
in regards to the apparent improved performance in contrast to its previous start on 27 June. Mr Wong explained that he provided the same instructions to both riders however at the previous start Apprentice Wong had reported post race that despite his efforts 5 Riches Treasure would not pick up the bit and improve whereas in this race the horse had responded to its senior rider. Mr Wong staged that he had done differently the horse before races and after the horse disappointing performance he had been less confidence of his chances in this race. The Trainer added that in his opinion L Corrales who had previously won on the horse had made a difference to its performance. The Stewards advised Mr Wong his explanation will be reported.

VETERINARY:
2 Will Go On (W T Pao)-A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K Seo was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial due to unsatisfactorily performance.
6 Hit The Bull (W L Ho)-A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Mission Fortune (H Lam)-A post race veterinary examination revealed that the horse was making abnormal respiratory noises. Trainer Pat Lee was advised that the horse will be required to undergo a veterinary examination on Saturday, 26 July 2014. Trainer Pat Lee was also informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial due to unsatisfactorily performance.
