Race Report

RACE-1 THE HAWKESBURY MAIDEN 1200 METRES (165)

1 My Lovely Faye (C F Wong) –Raced three wide without cover.
3 Travel Trump (M Cangas) –Rider explained that the gelding was extremely green throughout the race and was hanging out; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
4 Borrett Boy (B Yamzon) –Over raced in the early and middle stages.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards opened an inquiry into the riding tactic adopted on 2 Salon (A Calder). Evidence was taken from Jockey A Calder and Trainer C F Chan. The Stewards also took into account the official betting sheets. A post race veterinary examination of 2 Salon failed to reveal any abnormality. Jockey A Calder the rider of 2 Salon was charged under MJC Rule 132 (iii) in that the failed to ride 2 Salon to the satisfaction of the Stewards in that approaching passing the 400 metres he failed to improve his position to the outside of 8 Cool Brother (L Corrales) therefore getting onto the back of 1 My Lovely Faye (C F Wong) which would have afforded his mount the opportunity of clear running in the straight. Jockey A Calder was suspended from riding in races for a period of 5 racemeetings commencing from midnight the 30th of January 2015 and to expire midnight the 28th of February 2015. He was advised of his Right of Appeal at 6:10pm.

VETERINARY:
3 Travel Trump (M Cangas) –A post race veterinary examination of 3 Travel Trump which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
