Race Report

RACE-1 THE FINGLAS RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1050 METRES (366)

3 Hostwin Treasure (C Perkins) –Was slow to muster speed and shortly after the start had to be steadied off the heels of 1 Happy Cash which shifted out; Performed below market expectations; Rider stated that this was his mount’s first start tonight and it resented the kickback; He added that in his opinion it would benefit from the run.
4 Lucky And Fortune (B Yamzon) –Rider advised that his mount was under pressure from 500 metres and weakened from that point; He was advised that he must ride all his mounts hands and heels to the post.
6 Cool Brother (W L Ho) –Raced three wide without cover.
9 Golden Lion (D Chong) –Threw its head in the air when the gates were released and as a result lost ground.
10 Glory Moment (K H Yu) –Was slow to begin; Raced very wide without cover throughout the event.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Shortly after the start 8 Active Power (Apprentice Y M Choi) was hampered and lost ground when tightened for room between 9 Golden Lion (D Chong) which shifted out slightly and 10 Glory Moment (K H Yu) which shifted in after being struck with the whip. As a result of this incident 9 Golden Lion became extremely unbalanced when its hindquarters were turned in and 10 Glory Moment also became unbalanced. Jockey K H Yu was reprimanded and notified that he must endeavour to keep his mounts straight at all times.

Jockey W T Pao the rider of 2 Far Reaching when questioned as to why he got further back than at its most recent start, advised Stewards that his mount began well however despite his urging was unable to get a forward position. He added that overall he was not disappointed with its run tonight.
