Race Report

RACE-4 THE COURT MARTIAL RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1050 METRES (387)
This race was rescheduled to start at 9:50pm.

1 Happy Orchard (B Yamzon) –Raced wide without cover throughout the event; Poor performance; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
3 Wine Buddies (C F Wong) –Shortly after the start raced in restricted room for a short distance.
4 Magical Choice (A Calder) –Jumped away awkwardly and became unbalanced after being brushed by 12 Liver Pool;
6 Pawmaster (J Cordero) –On jumping away raced in restricted room for a short distance; Performed below market expectation; Rider reported his mount was having its first run tonight and should benefit from the experience; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
7 Felsham (W L Ho) – Poor performance, beaten in excess of 51 lengths; Rider stated that his mount was first up today after a lengthy spell and added that near the 850 metres his mount changed legs and lost ground; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards;
Trainer A Ngai advised that he was of the belief that Felsham had lost interest in racing and he had recommended to the connections that the gelding be retired; Trainer A Ngai was informed that he would be required to present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 25th July 2015 and in addition will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it is competitive in an official barrier trial.
8 Cool Brother (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Raced three wide without cover.
9 The Precious Prime (H Lam) –Was marginally slow to begin; Performed below market expectation; Rider report the gelding dislike the kickback and did not appreciated the rain affected track.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
After passing the 700 metres 6 Pawmaster (J Cordero) had to be steadied to avoid the heels 7 Felsham (W L Ho) which after laying in shifted out marginally after being straightened. The incident was exacerbated due to 9 The Precious Prime laying in and making contact with 6 Pawmaster. Under the circumstances, the Stewards took no action but informed all riders to exercise utmost care at all times.

VETERINARY:
1 Happy Orchard (B Yamzon) –A post race veterinary examination of 1 Happy Orchard which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Pawmaster (J Cordero) –A post race veterinary examination of 6 Pawmaster which performed below market expectations failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Felsham (W L Ho) –A post race veterinary examination of 7 Felsham which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
