Race Report

RACE-1 THE STOCKPORT RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1350 METRES (115)

1 Gem Lucky Star (K K Lai) – Was difficult to load. Trainer K S Wong was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race until it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official jump out. Near the 900 metres became unbalanced when tightened between 6 My Lovely Faye and 5 I'm Unique which shifted in slightly.
3 Golden Lion (C F Chan) – Was difficult to load. Trainer K S Wong was informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race until it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official jump out. Struck the inside gate on jumping away and lost ground.
4 Great River (J Cordero) –Raced wide without cover. Near the 200 metres was brushed by 10 Smart Ebony. At the 100 metres had to be steadied momentarily to avoid the heels of 10 Smart Ebony which shifted in when laying in. Jockey J Cordero the rider of 4 Great River which was well supported tonight, explained that the gelding failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure.
6 My Lovely Faye (Y M Choi) – Near the 1250 metres had to be steadied momentarily off the heels of 2 Glory Moment which shifted out. Approaching the 1000 metres was taken in off its course by 1 Gem Lucky Star which shifted in.
8 Golden Commandment (D Chong) –After jumping away was brushed by 7 Fly With The Wind and then shifted in and away from that horse, having to be steadied off the heels of 11 Big Success.
9 Delight Consul (W L Ho) – Raced very wide throughout the event. Poor performance. Rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his urgings. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Smart Ebony (M Cangas) –After passing 200 metres was awkwardly placed between 4 Great River and 11 Big Success which had a tendency to shift in. Laid in from the 100 metres proving difficult to ride.
12 Macau Health (L Corrales) – Jockey L Corrales the rider of 12 Macau Health which performed below market expectations stated that the gelding was under pressure throughout and failed to respond to his riding at any stage.
