Race Report

RACE-5 THE PATNA (MAGIC MILLIONS TRAVEL PACKAGE OWNER & TRAINER) (DIV.1) RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1400 METRES (45)
PERFECT ALVIN (H LAM) was examined behind the barriers at the request of the rider and found to be lame in the left foreleg. Acting on veterinary advice, PERFECT ALVIN was withdrawn at 4:18pm. Trainer J LAU was informed that PERFECT ALVIN will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary certificate is produced.
After being boxed SUNSHINE CHEERS (B YAMZON) became fractious and damaged its blinkers which had to be replaced. This delayed the start slightly.
SHORT CUT (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI) hung out rounding the home turn.
SUNSHINE CHEERS (B YAMZON) raced wide rounding the home turn.
MY LUCKY BABY (T PEREIRA) raced wide for the majority of the race.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of WONDERFUL STEED, Jockey M NUNES stated that his mount never travelled comfortably throughout the race and when placed under pressure near the 600 metres failed to respond. A post race veterinary examination of WONDERFUL STEED failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer J LAU was informed to present WONDERFUL STEED to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 30th September 2012.
