Race Report

RACE-2 THE EAST FIFE (TURF) (DIV.2) RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (239)
At 8:00pm Mr. P LEYSHAN the trainer of ST LEPIN (B YAMZON) advised that he had emphasized to Jockey B YAMZON that in order for the gelding to give its best performance, he must obtain cover in running if possible.
Shortly after the start COURT IN NEW YORK (M BEPPU) was hampered and lost its position when tightened onto TOP SHOOTER (K H YU) by TAIKI SHUTTLE (L JURADO) which shifted out.
From the 600 metres and for some distance MY LUCKY BABY (W T PAO) was inclined to over race when being restrained.
Inside the 100 metres ST LEPIN (B YAMZON) and GOLDEN WELL BO BO (A HELFENBEIN) brushed on a number of occasions.
Approaching the finish the rider of SUNSHINE DRAGON (L CORRALES) was forced to stop riding as that gelding commenced to get close to the heels of CHINA CHEERS (APPRENTICE Y M CHOI) and WONDERFUL EXPRESS (R B WOODWORTH).
In the straight MY LUCKY BABY dipped on a number of occasions for no apparent reason. Jockey W T PAO confirmed that his mount over raced and in the straight was uneven in its action. A post race veterinary examination of MY LUCKY BABY failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K C CHONG was informed that he would be required to present MY LUCKY BABY to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 9th March 2013.
