RACE-5 THE CLYDEBANK (DIV.2) RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1350 METRES (242)
The Stewards considered an objection lodge by Jockey L JURADO the rider of AT FIRST GLANCE (2nd placed getter) against SUNSHINE CHEERS (F DURSO) being declared the winner by the Judge alleging interference approaching the finish. After taking evidence from both Jockey L JURADO and F DURSO and viewing the patrol films, it was established that approaching the finish AT FIRST GLANCE had been struck by Jockey Durso’s whip as it laid in marginally onto SUNSHINE CHEERS. Having regard to the beaten margin and the proximity to the finish Jockey JURADO’s objection was dismissed.
SUNSHINE CHEERS (F DURSO) raced wide throughout the event.
Over the concluding stages AT FIRST GLANCE (L JURADO) was inclined to lay in under pressure.
Near the 200 metres Jockey LEI KIN MENG the rider of dropped his whip. He was issued with a reprimand.
Inside the 200 metres Jockey B YAMZON the rider of WINDICATOR RETURNS stopped riding for a short distance. Jockey B YAMZON explained that he was concerned that the cheek strap of the bridle had become undone and after confirming that wasn’t the case continued to ride his mount.
Approaching the finish Jockey F Durso the rider of SUNSHINE CHEERS struck AT FIRST GLANCE (L JURADO) across the head with his whip.
