Race Report

RACE-3 CHAIRMAN'S CHALLENGE CUP (GROUP 1) (TURF) OPEN 1200 METRES (301)
1-Luck Of Smiling (Apprentice C Perkins)- Proved difficult to load. Must participate in the jump out to the satisfaction of Stewards before being declare to race again. Near the 900 metres momentarily raced in restricted room and was checked when tightened for room.
5-Happy Proposal (K M Chin)-Jumped awkwardly.
6-Just In Time (T H So)-Jumped awkwardly.
7-My Pony (W Smith)-Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
9-The Love Guru (Y T Cheng)- Inclined to lay in, brushed and became unbalanced for a short distance near 900 metres.
10-Precious Eclair (L Corrales)-Slow to begin. Jumped awkwardly.
14-Scandicmaster (F Durso)-Brushed and became unbalanced for a short distance near 900 metres. Steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels near 400 metres.
INQUIRY: The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 900 metres, in which 1-Luck Of Smiling (C Perkins) and 13-Golden Bullet (L Jurado) were tightened for room causing 1-Luck Of Smiling to be checked. It was established that 4-Lucky Twin Star (M Chadwick) when insufficiently clear shifted in onto 9-The Love Guru (Y T Cheng) taking that gelding in onto 1-Luck Of Smiling which was tightened onto 13-Golden Bullet. Jockey M Chadwick was severely reprimanded (careless riding) for permitting 4-Lucky Twin Star to shift in when insufficiently clear. In examining the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that 9-Power Alkhafif had been inclined to lay in and away from 4-Lucky Twin Star of its own accord.
VETERINARY:
2-The Lucky Steed (A Helfenbein) - Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9-The Love Guru (Y T Cheng)-Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
