RACE-4 SJM MACAU DERBY (TRIPLE CROWN - 2nd LEG) (GROUP 1) (TURF) 4YO 1800 METRES (302)
2-Smiling Happy (R B Woodworth)- Obliged to steady of heels approaching the winning post the first occasion.
6-The Drunk Bird (O Doleuze)-In the vicinity of 1400 metres got its head up and ungenerous when being restrained; Inclined to lay out near the 1200 metres.
8-Hostwin Challenge (K M Chin)-Hind quarters turned in approaching the winning post the first time. Near the 1500 metres tightened for room.
10-Luen Yat Colorado (M Chadwick)-Approaching the winning post the first time tightened for room.
11-King Creole (A Calder)-Jumped awkwardly.
13-General'S Steed (R Stewart)-Hampered and became ungenerous making the first turn.
14-Haayil Shadow (L Jurado)-Checked and severely unbalanced passing the winning post.

INQUIRY: The Stewards inquired into interference suffered by 10-Luen Yat Colorado (M Chadwick) and 12-Energy Gladiator (K H Yu) approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Evidence was taken from M Chadwick the rider of 10-Luen Yat Colorado, K H Yu, the rider of 12-Energy Gladiator and C Perkins, the rider of 4-Master Of Puppets. It was established that when insufficiently clear 4-Master Of Puppets shifted in onto 12-Energy Gladiator tightening that gelding onto 10-Luen Yat Colorado. In consequence when being checked 12-Energy Gladiator shifted out abruptly and hampered 2-Smiling Happy and 14-Haayil Shadow which affected 13-General'S Steed (R Stewart). Apprentice C Perkins pleaded guilty of the charge of careless riding. He was suspended for the period of 2 meetings, the 26th April and 3rd May 2013. In considered this penalty, Stewards accepted C Perkin’s good record and noted that riders in the Group 1 were provided with notice that penalties in these races might incur increased penalties.
VETERINARY:
2-Smiling Happy (R B Woodworth) - Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
12-Energy Gladiator (K H Yu)- Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
