Race Report

RACE-2 THE LYON RATING 50-0 (SPECIAL) 1500 METRES (322)
4 Laughing World (Lei Kin Meng) -Cast its left fore plate.
6 Dance Day (C Grylls) -In the vicinity of the 1300 metres hung out and as a consequence raced wide for the majority of the event.
9 Mighty Thor (R B Woodworth)- Jumped awkwardly.
11 Sunshine Stylish (L Corrales) -Jumped awkwardly and was inconvenienced for several strides.

INQUIRY: The Stewards sought an explanation from Jockey W T Pao the rider of 3 Sharon Winner regarding aspects of his ride at the entrance of the straight. Jockey W T Pao explained that he had been instructed that if 3 Sharon Winner had commenced well to be positive and if 3 Sharon Winner had not begun well to attempt to find a position closer to the inside. He stated that from the 800 metres he had commenced to improve inside 9 Mighty Thor (R B Woodworth) and then was forced to ease off heels. He said that at the entrance to the straight he had almost dropped his whip but after regaining its use and balancing his mount, 3 Sharon Winner had run on under pressure. Jockey W T Pao was advised his explanation would be noted.

12 Imperial Treasure (M Cangas) – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
