Race Report

RACE-7 THE ALMAHMOUD RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (355)

1 Good Spirit (R Stewart) -Rider reported mount hung out from the 600 metres.
2 Regal Flame (Apprentice Y M Choi) -Jumped awkwardly.
3 Sacred Hustler (A Calder) -Slow to jump.
4 Northern Champion (F Durso) -Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was inconvenienced for several strides.
5 Let Me Run (R Silvera) -Rider reported his mount laid in at various stages of the race.
9 Precious Eclair (L Corrales) -Slow to jump.
10 Spring (K M Lei) -Cast its right fore plate.
12 Twin Star (K W Leong) -Shortly after the start was hampered when contacted heavily and lost its position.

INQUIRY: The Stewards sought an explanation from Jockey A Calder the rider of 3 Sacred Hustler in regards to the apparent poor performance. Jockey A Clader explained that in the barrier his mount had been restless and inclined to sit back resulting in it jumping awkwardly. He stated that it had been his intentions to race handy however due to the abundant speed had instead elected to sit behind the speed and when obtaining a position one off his mount had been initially inclined to over race. Jockey A Calder said the passing the 600 metres 3 Sacred Hustler was immediately under pressure and in the straight had struggled to maintain its position.

VETERINARY:
3 Sacred Hustler (A Calder) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Felsham (Lei Kin Meng) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality other than it had cast its right fore plate.
