Race Report

RACE-4 THE LAI SEE RATING 55-0 (SPECIAL) 1800 METRES (190)

2 Sunshine Gladiator (K H Yu) –At various stages of the event raced wide.
4 Come Easy (A Calder) –From the vicinity of the 400 metres was inclined to lay out and in the straight continued to lay out under pressure.
5 Chinese Dragon (J Matthews) –At various stages of the event raced wide.
6 Windsor Arch Three (R Curatolo) –Jumped awkwardly. The rider reported that he lost the use of his left iron.
7 Diamond Whirlwind (W L Ho) –Approaching the 200 metres was inconvenienced when obliged to race in neat room and shortly afterwards was disappointed and obliged to steady off the heels of 8 Laughing World.
8 Laughing World (R Silvera) –Jumped awkwardly.
10 River Brightenstar (Apprentice C F Wong) –From the 1400 metres when being restrained commenced to hang out, became awkward for some distance on the heels of 4 Come Easy and continued to lay out for some distance thereafter.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the circumstances in which 7 Diamond Whirlwind (W L Ho) was forced to steady inside the 200 metres. It was established when attempting to improve into a run between10 River Brightenstar (Apprentice C F Wong) and 8 Laughing World (R Silvera), 7 Diamond Whirlwind was steadied as a consequence of 8 Laughing World continuing to shift ground out.The Stewards issued Jockey R Silvera with a severe reprimand and advised the rider that in future he would be expected to take greater care when shifting ground and be alert to riders improving within his proximity.

VETERINARY:
5 Chinese Dragon (J Matthews) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
