Race Report

RACE-6 THE AUXERRE RATING 80-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1800 METRES (265)

At 4:50pm Mr. C F Chan the trainer of 10 Super Giant Star advised the Stewards that in order to offset the wide barrier he would instruct Jockey L Corrales to attempt settle the horse 3rd , 4th or 5th in running

At 4:53 Mr. Pat Lee the trainer of 12 Sunshine Spirit advised the Stewards that due to the track conditions he would instruct Apprentice Y M Choi if possible to lead in this race.

6 Theology (A Calder) –Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start was inconvenienced when tightened for room.
7 Best Pioneer (B Yamzon) –Jumped awkwardly.
8 Best Season (W L Ho) –Near the 1000 metres when improving into neat ground inside 9 Flaming Star was eased when that runner rolled back in.
9 Flaming Star (J Matthews) –Jumped awkwardly
10 Super Giant Star (L Corrales) –Raced wide throughout the event.
11 Easy Choice (K H Yu) –Jumped awkwardly and shortly after was taken across the back of the field to take a position closer to the inside rail.
12 Sunshine Spirit (Apprentice Y M Choi) –From the 1000 metres raced wide

INQUIRY:
Jockey W L Ho the rider of 8 Best Season explained that his mount had travelled fairly during running but in the going had not let down in its usual manner and in his opinion its run had ended near the 200 metres. He added that 8 Best Season might benefit from the experience in the conditions.

Apprentice Y M Choi the rider of 12 Sunshine Spirit reported that he had been unable to fulfill his instructions as 12 Sunshine Spirit had been reluctant to muster speed in the going.

1 Luenyat Blackberry (C Perkins) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
