Race Report

RACE-4 THE NAPLES RATING 60-30 (CLASS 3&4) 1800 METRES (378)

1 Will Go On (W T Pao) –Trainer K Seo was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
2 Luen Yat Command (C Perkins) –Near the 300 metres when awkwardly placed was disappointed and obliged to alter course.
4 Riches Treasure (Apprentice C F Wong) –Near the 600 metres was obliged to steady away from heels
5 Come Easy (A Calder) –Making the turn near the 1400 metres was inclined in getting its head up and hung out.
6 7 Hit The Bull (W L Ho) –In the vicinity of the 1000 metres was inconvenienced when taken out by 12 Laughing World resulting in it being forced to race wide for some distance.
10 Jylland (M Cangas) –Inclined to rear on jumping.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the circumstances in which 7 Hit The Bull (W L Ho) had been inconvenienced and forced to race wide in the vicinity of the 1000 metres. It was established that passing the 1200 metres 7 Hit The Bull (W L Ho) had raced outside the heels of 12 Laughing World (Apprentice Y M Choi) which had shifted out on two occasions in vicinity of the 1000 metres when not sufficiently clear of 7 Hit The Bull racing to its outside. After considering the evidence and reviewing the official vision Apprentice Y M Choi was reprimanded and advised in future to only shift ground when sufficiently clear.

Jockey W L Ho the rider of 7 Hit The Bull explained his mount had travelled only fairly and after being pushed wide passing the 1100 metres he had attempted to save ground making the turn, however he stated that when racing inside horses 7 Hit The Bull was inclined to be nervous and race greenly. He added that in the straight 7 Hit The Bull had not quickened in the going.

The Stewards will interview Apprentice C F Wong the rider of 4 Riches Treasure in relation to his mount’s performance in this event, prior to the racemeeting on Sunday, 29th June 2014.

1 Will Go On(W T Pao) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
