RACE-6 THE ALTESSE ROYALE (DIV 2) RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1050 METRES (18)

1 Golden Bullet (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Jumped awkwardly.
2 Power Alkhafif (M Cangas) –Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with 6 Let's Toast.
11 Pacers Bahhare (K K Lai) –Jumped awkwardly; Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
12 Golden Well Bo Bo (J Horcajada) –Raced wide throughout.

INQUIRY:
When questioned regarding his ride on 12 Golden Well Bo Bo in particular the reasons for racing wide throughout, Jockey J Horcajado stated that he was given no specific instructions. He stated from the wide draw he attempted to ride forward and racing to the first turn he attempted to obtain a position closer to the running rail however 9 Turquoise Lucky (Apprentice C F Wong)
was racing to his inside. He further added that as his horse was travelling comfortably he elected to maintain his position wider on the track rather than try and restrain to obtain a position closer to the running rail. After considering all the circumstances, the Stewards noted his explanation however advised Jockey J Horcajado that in future under similar circumstances when caught wide on the track he should explore all avenues available to him to try and obtain a position closer to the running rail so as not to cover extra ground.

VETERINARY:
3 Sweet Moment (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination revealed it was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer Pat Lee was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary certificate is produced.
