Race Report

RACE-6 THE ALYDAR RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (66)

2 Gauteng (B Yamzon) –Was slow to begin.
4 Happy Strength (A Calder) –Hung out throughout the event.
9 Diamond Star (L Corrales) –Was examined behind the barriers and passed fit to race.
11 Golden Harbour (M Cangas) –On jumping away was inconvenienced when brushed by 9 Diamond Star which shifted out.

INQUIRY:
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of 9 Diamond Star, Jockey L Corrales explained that the gelding jumped well, however was caught wide rounding the first turn due to the speed to his inside. He then attempted to obtain cover however was again caught wide and the gelding then failed to run on in the straight and in his opinion it did not feel right in its action.

VETERINARY:
4 Happy Strength (A Calder) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Diamond Star (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer Pat Lee was informed that he would be required present the horse to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 2nd November 2014.
10 Classical Music (W T Pao) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
