Race Report

RACE-1 THE TAPANUI RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (79)

1 Cutey Bear (B Yamzon) –Marginally slow to begin.
2 Florence Spirit (L Corrales) –Hung out in the early part of the straight.
3 Super Dan (K W Leong) –Near the 1200 metres when over racing had to be steadied off the heels of 2 Florence Spirit.
5 Twiningoceanstarbo (I Mosqueira) –Approaching the 100 metres had to be severely checked off the heels of 6 Sealand Treasure which weakened quickly.
7 Windsor Arch Two (H Lam) –Marginally slow to begin
8 Shadow Master (J Horcajada) –Raced wide without cover until obtaining a position closer to the rails near the 700 metres.
9 Cargo Money (W T Pao) – Slow to begin (3L); Trainer K C Hoi was informed that a warning had been placed on the horse for its barrier manners.

INQUIRY:
When questioned Jockey W T Pao rider of 9 Cargo Money explained that on entering the home straight he elected to shift to the inside of 8 Shadow Master (J Horcajada) as he has been instructed to stay close to the rail to save ground and he was expecting other runners shift out in the straight due to the softer track conditions on the inside which would afford him clear running to the line.

Jockey L Corrales the rider of 2 Florence Spirit was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that after passing the 200 metres he permitted his mount to shift in whilst riding it along resulting in 9 Cargo Money (W T Pao) being tightened in onto 5 Twiningoceanstarbo (I Mosqueira) and having to be checked. During this incident 5 Twiningoceanstarbo became unbalanced. Jockey L Corrales had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of three racemeetings to take effect for the meetings of 28th November, 5th and 6th December 2014. He was advised of his Right of Appeal at 10:50pm.

2 Florence Spirit (L Corrales) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Elderly Pride (Suraj Narredu) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Windsor Arch Two (H Lam) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
