Race Report

RACE-1 THE SOUTHEND RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1200 METRES (312)
Prior to the race, Mr. M C Tam the trainer of 6 Best Jade Luck (L Corrales) advised the Stewards that due to the wide barrier they will endeavour to have the gelding settling back with cover to allow it to finish off its race.
6 Best Jade Luck settled just off mid field, however raced ungenerously and wide without cover for the majority of the event

1 Macau Health (Apprentice K Y Wong) –Proved difficult to load delaying the start of the race; Trainer K M Chin was informed that 1 Macau Health will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial.
3 Golden Cornered (C F Chan) –Was slow to begin; Raced keenly through the middle stages and near the 700 metres shifted out when close to the heels of 6 Best Jade Luck
5 Mission Fortune (C Perkins) – Disappointing performance; Rider reported that the horse is better suited on a firmer track and over a longer distance; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
6 Best Jade Luck (L Corrales) –Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and raced wide without cover for the majority; Disappointing performance; Rider reported that his mount was caught wide in the early stages and when placed under pressure in the straight failed to respond; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
7 Super Dan (L Salles) –Was slow to begin; Disappointing performance; Rider reported that when placed under pressure his mount failed to respond; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
9 Twiningoceanstarbo (W L Ho) –Was marginally slow to begin.
12 Windsor Arch Two (C F Wong) –Approaching the 400 metres was held up for a short distance when unable to improve its position.
VETERINARY:
5 Mission Fortune (C Perkins) – A post race veterinary examination of 5 Mission Fortune which was disappointing revealed that the horse was making an unusual respiratory noise.
6 Best Jade Luck (L Corrales) – A post race veterinary examination of 6 Best Jade Luck which was disappointing and was reported by its rider to be coughing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Super Dan (L Salles) –A post race veterinary examination of 7 Super Dan which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
