Race Report

RACE-5 THE PLYMOUTH RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (316)
Prior to the race, Mr. J W Moore the trainer of 2 Tron General (M Cangas) advised the Stewards that due to blinkers going back on and as the gelding had been freshened up, he would instruct the rider to endeavour to settle the gelding in 4th or 5th position.
2 Tron General settled midfield.

2 Tron General (M Cangas) –Cast its left front plate during the run.
4 Gold And Silver (A Calder) –Laid out rounding the home turn; Cast its right front plate during the run.
5 Hand By Hand (C F Wong) –Over raced in the early and middle stages.
6 Rush'N Prince (K W Leong) –Got its head up when over racing in the early stages.
8 Hit The Bull (K H Yu) –Disappointing performance; Rider explained that he could offer no real explanation; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
10 Wind Chaser (W L Ho) –Raced wide without cover; Disappointing performance; Rider explained that his mount was caught wide throughout and failed to respond to his riding; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
11 Mission Fame (H Lam) –Dipped in the going near the 700 metres; was held up when unable to improve its position passing the 600 metres until near the 400 metres; Dipped near the 200 metres.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards questioned Jockey H Lam in regards to his riding on 11 Mission Fame. Jockey H Lam explained from his wide barrier he had been instructed to ease and gain cover, and he obtained a position on the rail at the rear of the field where his horse traveled well within itself. He added that his mount stumbled on a number of occasions in the going and that he was held up for some distance rounding the home turn, however his mount ran on well in the straight.

The Stewards questioned Jockey K W Leong the rider of 6 Rush'N Prince regarding the reason why he looked to his inside between the 600 metres and the 400 metres on a number of occasion. Jockey K W Leong explained that his mount was racing ungenerously in the going and that he was receiving calls from riders to his outside and inside. He further explained that for this reason he glanced over his shoulder in both directions to ensure was not interfering with other runners. Jockey K W Leong’s explanation was recorded.

VETERINARY:
8 Hit The Bull (K H Yu) –A post race veterinary examination of 8 Hit The Bull which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Wind Chaser (W L Ho) –A post race veterinary examination of 10 Wind Chaser which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer A Ngai was informed that he would be required to present 10 Wind Chaser to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 31st May 2015.
