Race Report

RACE-2 THE PRINCE BIO 2&3-YEAR-OLD RATING 55-0 (CLASS 4,5&6) 1100 METRES (379)

2 Happy Ka Ka (C F Chan) – Rider reported his mount which was having its second race start today raced greenly.
3 Cheerful Fish (M Cangas) – Raced very keenly during the early and middle stages.
5 Baohu Star (B Yamzon) – Was marginally slow to begin.
6 River Amazing (Apprentice K Y Wong) – Near the 1000 metres had to be checked when tightened for room between 11 Glory Moment (K H Yu) and 2 Happy Ka Ka (C F Chan) both of which shifted ground.
7 Lucky And Healthy (R Stewart) – Was difficult to load and delayed the start; Raced three wide without cover.
9 Power Savabeel (W Smith) - Shifted out when the gates were released and made contact with 1 Oh So Simple (D Chong) hampering that gelding.
11 Glory Moment (K H Yu) – The rider dropped his whip at 400 metres; K H Yu was severely reprimanded. When questioned the poor performance the rider reported that the horse would be better suited to run on the sand track over shorter distance.

RACING INQUIRY:
K W Leong the rider of 8 Big Success pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of MJC Rule 132(i) in that after passing the 800 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 5 Baohu Star (B Yamzon) which had to be checked. K W Leong’s licenced to ride was suspended for a period of 2 race meetings covering the meetings of 31st July 2015 and 1st August 2015; In arriving at the penalty, Stewards took into account that the racing manners of both horses, K W Leong guilty plea and his careless riding record.

VETERINARY:
11 Glory Moment - A post race veterinary examination of 11 Glory Moment which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
