Race Report

RACE-4 THE GWALIOR RATING 50-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1800 METRES (51)
This race was rescheduled at 4:15pm.
Shortly after the start Turquoise Forever (K H Yu) was crowded for room and was steadied between Fields Avenue (H Lam) and Haayil Shadow (K K Lai) which jumped awkwardly and shifted out.
Count Versuvius (M Nunes) jumped awkwardly.
Apprentice Y M Choi the rider of Macau Stand pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 1600 metres he directed his mount in when insufficiently clear of Count Versuvius (M Nunes) resulting in that horse being checked and taken in onto Turquoise Forever (K H Yu) which was checked. Apprentice Y M Choi was fined the sum of HK$8,000 in lieu of 1 race day suspensions. He was advised of his Right of Appeal at 6:22pm.
Taiki Shuttle (L Jurado), Count Versuvius (M Nunes) and Fields Avenue (H Lam) over raced during the early and middle stages.
A post race veterinary examination of Best Sport (B Yamzon) revealed the gelding was severely lame in the left foreleg. Trainer G Allendorf was advised that Best Sport will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has passed a barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards and a veterinary certificate is produced.
A post race veterinary examination of Turquoise Forever (K H Yu) and Icelake (K L Lei) failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Both of these horses will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until they have passed a barrier trail to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
