Race Report

RACE-1 THE PROSPERITY (TURF) RATING 40-20 (CLASS 5) 1200 METRES (307)
1 St Kitts (B Yamzon)-Approaching the 200 metres was disappointed when improving into a neat run was forced to steady and alter course when tightened for room.
5 Sunshine Dragon (C Perkins)-Jumped awkwardly. Rider reported his mount to be lame after the race.
7 Beautiful Illusion (R Silvera)-Near the 800 metres brushed with 10 Cutey Bear (Apprentice C F Wong). Raced wide throughout the event. In the vicinity of 800 metres when being restrained got its head up and lay out. Continued to lay out until entering the straight.
10 Cutey Bear (Apprentice C F Wong)-Near the 800 metres brushed with 7 Beautiful Illusion (R Silvera). Raced wide throughout the event. Near the 700 metres when taken out marginally then lay out on its own accord. Continued to lay out until entering the straight.
11 Taiki Shuttle (C F Chan)-Jumped awkwardly.

INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into the circumstance in which 3 It's A Round World (W L Ho) improved into clear running into the 700 meters. Apprentice C F Wong the rider of 10 Cutey Bear explained that passing the 800 metres he had obtained a position 3 wide. He stated that after being taken out marginally making the turn his mount had laid out of its own accord. Apprentice C F Wong said that approaching the 600 metres he had attempted to shift back to the original 3 wide position but have been unable due to 3 It's A Round World having improved to its inside.

The Stewards inquired into the circumstance in which 1 St Kitts (B Yamzon) was disappointed and obliged to ease when attempting to improve into the straight. It was established that entering the straight 2 Hostwin Helios (A Calder) have rolled out briefly before rolling in at the same time as 1 St Kitts had commenced to improve. As the Stewards noted 2 Hostwin Helios was having its initial race start and 1 St Kitts had improved quickly into a questionable run that was available briefly, no action was taken.

VETERINARY:
1 St Kitts (B Yamzon)-A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Hostwin Helios (A Calder)-A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Sunshine Dragon (C Perkins)- A post race veterinary examination revealed that the horse was lame in the right foreleg.
