Race Report

RACE-1 THE NAAS RATING 30-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (171)

4 Best Jade Win (L Salles) –Performed poorly; Rider stated the gelding was one paced and would be better suited over further ground. A veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
6 Windsor Arch One (R Curatolo) –Went amiss near the 800 metres and was eased down from the race at the point.
9 Shadow Master (J Horcajada) –Raced wide without cover.
11 Cargo Money (W T Pao) –Was slow to begin; After passing the 400 metres was held up for a short distance.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Prior to correct weight, Jockey W L Ho the rider of 8 Taiki Shuttle 2nd placed getter viewed the official video patrol films before lodging an objection against 5 Rivers Elite (L Corrales)
being declared the winner for alleging indirect interference over the concluding stages. It was established that near the winning post 5 Rivers Elite shifted out when being ridden along taking the 3rd place getter 2 Dance Day (C Perkins) out onto 8 Taiki Shuttle. Bearing in mind the beaten margin of a head and the close proximity of the winning post, the Stewards were not satisfied that any interference warranted a reversal of placings and dismissed the objection.

The Stewards considered lodging an objection on behalf of the connections of 2 Dance Day (C Perkins) 3rd place getter past the post against the winner 5 Rivers Elite (L Corrales). It was established that approaching the winning post 2 Dance Day (C Perkins) was tightened out onto the 2nd place getter 8 Taiki Shuttle (W L Ho), however given the beaten margin of a head by a neck and the proximity to the winning post the Stewards were not satisfied that a protest would be sustained and therefore they declared correct weight.

VETERINARY:
2 Dance Day (C Perkins) –A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Windsor Arch One (R Curatolo) –A veterinary examination 6 Windsor Arch One which went amiss at the 800 metres revealed that it was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer A Ngai was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until the horse has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial and a veterinary clearance is produced.
