Race Report

RACE-4 THE LEOPARDSTOWN RATING 50-30 (CLASS 4&5) 1200 METRES (174)
Acting Trainer J W Moore informed the Stewards that 2 War Heights (C F Wong) would be ridden in a more forward position should circumstances permit.
2 War Heights settled in a mid field position.
4 Golden Well Bo Bo (L Salles) –Disappointing performance; Rider stated that he could offer no real excuses and that the gelding did not respond to his riding. A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
6 Crowning Mission (J Horcajada) –Shortly after the start had to be checked when tightened for room between 2 War Heights and 9 River Good Choice which shifted out;
7 Maggie's Pride (R Curatolo) –Dislodged its rider on the way to the barriers; Rider remounted immediately; Dwelt at the start losing considerable ground. Trainer K C Tse was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
8 Charming Shanghai (M Cangas) –Poor performance; Rider stated the gelding failed to respond to his riding when put under pressure from 600 metres; A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
10 Valiant Fighter (W T Pao) –Was marginally slow to begin.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Passing the 1000 metres 6 Crowning Mission (J Horcajada) had to be steadied off the heels of 5 Captain Genuki ( W L Ho) which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey W L Ho was advised that he must ensure he is clear of other runners when shifting ground at all times.

VETERINARY:
4 Golden Well Bo Bo (L Salles) –A post race veterinary examination of 4 Golden Well Bo Bo which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Charming Shanghai (M Cangas) –A post race veterinary examination of 8 Charming Shanghai which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
