Race Report

RACE-4 SJM MACAU DERBY (TRIPLE CROWN - 2nd Leg) (GROUP 1) RATING 4YO 1800 METRES (266)
3 Master Of Alfa (C Perkins)-When making the crossing near the 1400metres became awkward and had to be restrained. Rider explained that something was amiss with the gelding and for this reason he eased it down from the 600 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Trainer K C Wong was advised that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has undergone a full veterinary examination and has performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
4 Pak Lok Angel (K Teetan)-Raced keenly during the early stages.
6 The Alfonso (N Rawiller)-Shifted out when the gates were released and bumped 4 Pak Lok Angel which became unbalanced.
8 Sunshine Mighty (O Doleuze)-Struck the side of the gate on jumping away.
9 Advance Mission (D Whyte)-Jumped away awkwardly unbalancing its rider. When making the crossing near the 1400metres became unbalanced.
10 Pacers Bahhare (L Corrales)-Was marginally slow to begin.

INQUIRY:
Rider of The Alfonso (N Rawiller) was fined HKD1000 under MJC Rules for Racing 14(xvii)(a) for making celebratory gesture before the winning post.

VETERINARY:
2 Gold Alloy (H Lam)-The veterinary surgeon reported that its right front plate had shifted during the race.
3 Master Of Alfa (C Perkins)- A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
