4 Sino Estrela (B Yamzon)-Was slow to begin (1L). Approaching the 600 metres had to be steadied off the heels of 6 The Whirlwind. Jockey B Yamzon was questioned in regard his riding round the home turn and in the early part of the race. He explained that he had been urging his mount along and that it was never travelling particularly well rounding the home turn. Jockey B Yamzon was advised that he would be expected to make a greater effort to put his mount under pressure at the crucial part of the event and leave no room for query for his ride.
9 Golden Champ (Apprentice Y M Choi)-Rider Y M Choi was spoken to regarding his whip action in the straight.
11 Hanigan (W Smith)-Shortly after the start when racing ungenerously had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 7 Spring Stream (C F Chan) which shifted in when not clear. Jockey C F Chan was advised to excise more care when shifting in the future. 11 Hanigan then continued to race ungenerously for some distance.
12 Race King (S Moon)-Knuckled when the gate were released and lost ground. Was obliged to race wide without cover. Rider was reprimanded for accidently dropped his whip in the 400 metres.
