Race Report

RACE-4 THE BUSTINO RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (273)

1 Power Speedy (W L Ho) –Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
6 Pride Of Triomphe (W Smith) –Was slow to begin; Rider reported that his mount hung out on the first turn and did not feel right from the 900 metres.
7 Florence Elite (K W Leong) –Raced keenly in the middle stages.
8 Charity Group (L Corrales) –Was slow to begin.

INQUIRY:
Jockey B Yamzon the rider of 2 Fortune Smiles pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the home straight on the first occasion, he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of 3 Oriental Prestige (D Chong) which had to be checked off the heels of 2 Fortune Smiles. When being checked 3 Oriental Prestige shifted out resulting in 1 Power Speedy (W L Ho) which was racing to that gelding’s outside also having to be checked when tightened for room between that gelding and 4 Belgrade Nights (R Curatolo) Jockey B Yamzon’s licence to ride was suspended for a period of three racemeetings covering the meetings of 8th, 15th and 17th May 2015. In determining penalty the Stewards took onto account Jockey Yamzon’s guilty plea, his poor recent record and the severity of the incident which the Stewards deemed to be in the high range. He was advised of his Right of Appeal at 5:29pm.

VETERINARY:
1 Power Speedy (W L Ho) –A post race veterinary examination revealed that the horse was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer K S Ho was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary certificate is produced.
6 Pride Of Triomphe (W Smith) –A post race veterinary examination revealed that the horse was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer M C Tam was informed that the horse will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary certificate is produced.
