RACE-6 THE MONCHIQUE RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1200 METRES (365)

1 Vigor Partner (C F Wong)- Slow to begin (1L)
2 My Club (M Cangas)- Attempted to buck for some distance shortly after the start. Trainer G Allendorf was advised that a warning would be placed against the gelding for its racing manners and if it perform similarly in future, further action may be taken.
3 Gem Soldier (R Curatolo)- Slow to begin (1L); Raced three wider without cover throughout.
4 Win Smoothly (R Stewart)- Raced keenly during the earlier stages.
5 Sunshine Full Life (W L Ho)- Checked when disappointed for a run near the 250 metres.
6 Golden Spiritual (D Chong)- Slow to begin (1L); Poor performance. A post race veterinary examination was ordered by the Stewards.
7 I Told You So (J Cordero)- Over race through the earlier stages; Approaching the 700 metres the saddle slipped and the rider lost the use of both his stirrup irons as a result for the remainder of the race.
8 Valiant Soldier (C Perkins)- For some distance rounding home turn was held up and…

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Near the 250 metres, W L Ho the rider of 5 Sunshine Full Life, when held up behind 3 Gem Soldier (R Curatolo), attempted to force a run where there was insufficient room between that gelding and 2 My Club (M Cangas). As a result 5 Sunshine Full Life and 2 My Club made heavy contact for a number of strides with 2 My Club becoming extremely unbalanced and having its hindquarters turned outwards. During this incident 5 Sunshine Full Life became awkwardly placed on the heels of 3 Gem Soldier, which shifted in slightly before shifting out marginally, and had to be checked. In all the circumstances W L Ho the rider of 5 Sunshine Full Life was severely reprimanded and notified that he must ensure that he has sufficient room when attempting runs at all times.

VETERINARY:
6 Golden Spiritual (D Chong)- A post race veterinary examination of 6 Golden Spiritual which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
