Race Report

RACE-5 THE ARISTOPHANES RATING 70-50 (CLASS 3) 1200 METRES (376)

2 Valiant Soldier (C Perkins) –When the start was effected, lowered its head and as a result missed the start, Disappointing performance; Rider stated that after his mount missed the start he got further back than he wished and the horse failed to run on.
5 Diamond Rocket (L Corrales) – Near the 700 metres became unbalanced.
6 Every May (L Salles) –Laid out rounding the turn.
7 Yang Jiang Power (R Curatolo) –Was slow to begin; Trainer W H Tse was informed that a warning had been placed on the horse for being slow to begin and should it perform in a similar manner again, further action may be taken; When questioned as to why he raced wide rounding the home turn, rider explained that his mount hung out and he had advised connections that it would benefit with the application of blinkers. Trainer W H Tse was informed that he would be required to present 7 Yang Jiang Power for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 12th July 2015.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Prior to Correct Weight, Jockey W L Ho the rider of 4 Charming Beijing (2nd placed horse) requested to view the patrol film of the concluding stages, following which he decided to lodge an objection against 6 Every May (L Salles) being declared the winner alleging interference over the final 50 metres. After considering the evidence and reviewing the official patrol film, it was established that inside the 50 metres, 6 Every May which was laying out took 4 Charming Beijing out off its course however given the proximity to the winning post, the beaten margin of ¾ of a length and the manner in which both horses finished off the event, the Stewards were not satisfied that a reversal of placings was warranted and the objection was dismissed.

VETERINARY:
2 Valiant Soldier (C Perkins) – A post race veterinary examination of 2 Valiant Soldier which was disappointing failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Yang Jiang Power (R Curatolo) –A post race veterinary examination of 7 Yang Jiang Power which performed poorly failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
